Wanting to do something different with the kids on a weekend? Perhaps you’ve taken some time off work and want to go for a short but fun adventure with the kids. It’s probably time to check out a different side of Las Vegas.

While more popularly known for its adult entertainment, it may surprise you to discover that Las Vegas is also the place where kids can spend a wholesome and thrill-filled weekend. The city has much to offer the whole family when it comes to fun and excitement.

Las Vegas amusement parks are places where families can have a good time together. Laughter and squeals of delight will surely be a common sound among family members as they get on the different thrill rides and arcades these parks have to offer.

1. The New York New York Hotel has one of the more famous Las Vegas roller coasters simply called THE ROLLER COASTER. It’s a classic amusement park ride but has a twist that allows you to feel what a jet fighter feels when barreling through the skies. Besides The Roller Coaster there’s also the Coney Island Emporium with its bumper cabs, Daytona Simulator, Laser Patrol and a host of arcade games.

2. The XScream and Insanity at the STRATOSPHERE are true to their names when it comes to giving its riders screams and thrills. While the Insanity spins you as you’re hanging over the edge of the tower, XScream, on the other hand is the humongous see-saw that teeter-totters you at the tower’s edge. For the adults and teenagers who are at least 14 years old, the Stratosphere’s SkyJump Las Vegas is where you climb to the 108th floor and free fall from there - in full safety jumpsuits, of course. It will be a totally unique experience for the family.

3. BUFFALO BILL’S also offers families on a weekend break a hair-raising ride on the yellow tracks of its Desperado roller coaster. You’ll learn why it’s been classified as a hypercoaster as you experience its 225-foot first drop and whoosh through the tracks at a top speed of 95 mph. Other thrills on this out-in-the-desert amusement park include the Frog Hopper and the Log Flume Ride.

4. The ADVENTUREDOME, located at the Circus Circus Hotel, is probably the most popular of the Las Vegas amusement parks because it offers several choices of rides for family members of all ages. It is also home to one of the most unique Las Vegas roller coasters - the Canyon Blaster that will treat your kids to a double loop and double corkscrew. Other thrill rides include the Sling Shot, Chaos, and the Inverter. If you want something that the whole family can enjoy together, your choices include the B.C. Bus Ride, the classic Circus Carousel, the ferris wheel called Drifters, and a ride through the Adventuredome via the Road Runner.

These are just some of the Las Vegas amusement parks that offer families good times to remember. Plan a Las Vegas weekend with the family today.
